As we were there for an annual dinner dance we have been here before sometimes with good experiences sometimes not. The bedroom was lovely. At the start of dinner as we sat at our table, a beetle crawled across from my side plate and the wine glass on my right had dirty lipstick stains on it. The red wine was served clap cold so not at it's full potential, the soup was cold asked to send it back and heated up by topping up the bowl with more soup. The pate came with half a slice of toast, did you run out of bread or did the beetle get my share? The carvery you got 1 slice of meat?! I enjoyed the pudding choc mousse which was more successful than the steamed pudding with some orange essence and no moisture, custard might be a suggestion for the next time a tough sponge is on the menu. As usual there were a complete lack of bar staff. One young man for a room of 100 people. Not his fault but this happens every year so service is slow and a complete lack of interest from anyone else who works there. A wine bucket was asked for and 20 minutes later a lady on our table had to go fetch it before anyone moved into action. Just poor all round service.
Another excellent night. Myself and my group of 27 had a great time at the Recovery Night. If you want to keep Christmas going into January when everyone around are getting depressed go to the Recovery Night.
We had a wonderful Christmas Day afternoon. The food was very enjoyable; the atmosphere festive and relaxing; and the staff welcoming and friendly. We would happily return another year and recommend to others. Thank you and a happy new year to all involved.
Went there for a wedding. Really beautiful set up in the Byron suite. Done up really tastefully. Dinner served was simple and good food. If I had to marry again, I'd book here.
Enjoyed the spa this week it was a birthday present with my daughter. my only complaint was the outside sauna needed a clean. Along with the cold tub. For the price the spa costs. these areas should spotless. I didn't use the cold tub because it wasn't clean. However i would still recommend a visit. The meal in the hotel before was very nice. But the female toilet was broken. In the main bar. I enjoyed the courtesy drink and the spa pool outside. Fortunately the weather was nice.
